My Experiences Staying in Postcard Cabins
I KNOW you've seen their ads, the beautiful cabins with a huge window facing into a serene nature view. Postcard Cabins (formerly Getaway) is the remedy for burnout and the perfect way to get out there and touch some grass. With locations all over the US, there's bound to be an outpost near you!
The Experience
I've always had a wonderful experience during my visits to Postcard Cabins! I love being able to make my reservation, show up, and leave without any contact with anyone (my elder millennial is showing...). The day you're arriving, you will receive a text with which cabin you'll be staying in and the code to unlock the door. Each cabin is named after an employee's family member, which is very cute. You'll want to download the map of the grounds before you go because service can be spotty in their locations, which is kind of the point.
You'll be greeted by a lovely little note in your cabin and, if you're bringing a dog, a dog bowl, treat, and baggies. There are provisions inside the cabin and out, from coffee and tea, to s'mores kits, to firewood and starters. Stop at the grocery store and grab all your favorite snacks and meals because there is a fridge, cooktop, cookware, dishes, and utensils! I like to bring easy things to cook, like pancake mix, bacon, sandwich fixins', and frozen meals that can be heated on the stove or fire.
The whole experience can be contactless BUT there can be times where you need some assistance. During those times I needed something from the grounds staff, they were very friendly! You can call from your phone or the cabin phone, or (as suggested) shoot them a text with your issue.
What To Do?
I've stayed at three Postcard Cabin locations so far (New Hampshire, California, and Catskill East, NY) and I've found that there is something fun to do near every location! Of course, you could easily just stay at the cabin and enjoy nature and being cozy, but if you like to explore it's also a great vacation. There are breweries, coffee shops, nature trails and lakes, shopping...I've seen it all near Postcard outposts!
Gratuitous Photos
I could write a million-word essay on why I love Postcard Cabins, but I really think photos from my trips will convince you more. So, I'll shut it and give you the gallery you've been waiting for!
